My mother in law's visit went pretty much how I expected it to. She is very hard work and quite obviously dislikes me. I used to make an effort but now I just don't bother. I very much have to bite my tongue around my husband though. Anyway she's finally gone, thank goodness.

I decided to try out my Good Things cleanser and moisturiser yesterday. I really like the cleanser, it smells lovely and my skin looked better after using it. The moisturiser seems to make me a little greasy though. I've tried putting a little less on today under my make up for work and so far (after a quick mirror check) my cheeks look fine but my nose is a little shiny. I'll carry on using both this week and see how it goes. I sometimes find that after about a week new moisturisers give me spots despite me thinking that they were doing ok to start with.

This weekend I took my pony out with my mum on Saturday and we went for a walk under the pipe. My pony has only done this ride once before with a friend and her horse but she was very good and we had a lovely canter up a short hill. On Sunday I took her out alone along to the end of the golf course and back. the only place she decided she didn't want to go was when I was about to turn round so we had to go backwards and then turn round and go a bit further before I could turn her for home. She was a bit silly at first on the way back but after a while did a big sigh and relaxed.

I've got an appointment to give blood on Tuesday so I've borrowed my mum's Kindle to play with as I thought it would be easier to use that whilst I'm waiting that a real book that needs two hands.

I'm aiming at my step class tonight. I went last week and enjoyed it although my calves were aching the day after!

Well we went to the party on Saturday night which was a little bit strange. My husband and I are kind of in the middle with the party being for a 50th birthday and two 21sts. I did get complimented on my dress though which was good. The 21 year olds were rather drunk leading to a slightly embarassing speech. For my 21st we went go karting, then bowling and then out for a meal. It was fab and I'm pretty sure my friends and I were fairly well behaved.

My pony was very good this weekend. I went out for a walk with mymum on Saturday, then out alone on Sunday including a little canter.

Today my mother in law is arriving for a visit. She'll be here until Friday :(. I shall be going to the gym every day after work this week just to avoid having to sit in front of the TV with her all evening whilst my husband goes to the gym because he doesn't want to spend all evening with her! I really just don't get along with her at all. Still at least it should get me back in the habit of going to the gym after work.

TFIF

I took my pony down to the indoor school on Wednesday morning. We had to cross a big whole in the old mill yard that the workmen had covered with a metal sheet. When I said that horses don't walk on metal as it scares them, the workmen went off to find some alternatives and ended up building a wobbly bridge made out of wood which my pony just walked over no problem at all. I was so pleased with her. I have to stop worrying about things that my past horses would have been scared of and realise that my new girl is really very reliable and non-silly about life in general.

Today my nails are George Be Mine:

I put it on last night and by the time I got to work my pointy finger was already chipped and by 3pm four nails are chipped. I don't really like this colour anyway, it's a flat lilac and I'm not a fan of flat, pale colours. I shall take this of tonight. I think I'll use my BarryM mushroom for the party on Saturday.

I have ordered some nude peeptoe shoes from ASOS. They should be delivered today so, if they fit and I like them, I can wear them tomorrow evening but it's 3.25 and they aren't here yet....

Yay! Last night I went to the gym for a swim!! I am very pleased with myself as this is the first time I've been to the gym in ages. The less I go, the more I dislike myself and instead of going to the gym I eat and then I feel fatter and don't want to go to the gym and so on...

I also walked into town at lunchtime today to pay some work cheques into the bank. I treated myself to a M&S egg mayo sandwich but I was very disappointed. It tasted funny and the chunks of white bit were too big. Sorry, M&S but Asda's egg mayo butty wins hands down! I also bought one of M&S's new little dessert pots which come with their own tiny spoon. I was intending to get a millionairs shortbread one but they had all gone so I went ofr a chocolate cheesecake which was very nice.

I have no plans for tonight but it is pancake day so I might head to little tesco for some eggs and make some pancakes. I think I have enough other stuff in for fillings etc.

It seems that I mostly post on Mondays! I think it's because I feel guilty about not posting over the weekend but I only usually have time/or the inclination while I'm at work!

Today has been much less stressful that I thought it would be. I was awake early this morning (after a bizarre dream about going with the Top Gear team on one of their big expeditions) worrying about paying a couple of people but one of our customers has paid us and I had another invoice to factor so my cheques could be posted.

This weekend I had mixed fortunes with my pony. I took her out on her own for the first time in a while on Saturday morning just round the route that should take half an hour. She was really naughty, stopping in a couple of places and I even got totally stuck with her for ten minutes at one point although I did manage to get her to go in the end. So on Sunday we did the same route again but I had a different attitude. From the minute I got on she had to walk on, in an outline and we did lots of flexions and leg yields and she didn't stop once so that was really good, hard work though!

I went to Debenhams at the weekend and bought this dress:

It's a Julien McDonald Star dress and is fab. I was feeling very fat this weekend but this dress made me smile and feel good. It was also 20% off which made me smile even more. I'm intending to wear it for my Aunt's party on Saturday.

I also nipped out to Asda at lunchtime today and bought a bra and two pants set as well as a pair of jogging bottoms.
